Julio Torres keeps them laughing at S.N.L.

Literary Studies alumni (class of 2011) Julio Torres was the subject of a January 13 New York Times article, “Meet Julian Torres, the New ‘S.N.L.’ Star No One Sees” by Jason Zinoman. The article, which relates Torres’s rapid rise in Saturday Night Live’s writing ranks since his debut this past September, praises Torres’s slyly subversive brand of humor, stating that he “has already introduced a new style to the show.” Zinoman highlights Torres’s digital shorts “Melania’s Moments” and “Wells for Boys,” the latter written with Jeremy Beiler, as examples of Torres’s “incongruously dreamy comedy.”
